My Vancouver X-Files Adventure

There’s a little show called The X-Files and I should probably tell you that I’m a fan. If you’ve never seen it before, it’s all about Mulder and Scully, two FBI agents, investigating monsters in the dark. The first five and the last two seasons of the show were filmed in Vancouver, B.C. Because that’s only about five hours away from me, and because what could be the last season of the show ever was filming for the past few months, I thought it was the perfect time to explore the city and see some famous sites from the show.

These are the locations used for the exteriors of Mulder and Scully’s apartments, respectively. I love the brick buildings, which make up a lot of older Vancouver. There’s definitely a newer section of the city, but the older buildings give off that X-Files vibe.

This was a special one because *spoiler* it serves as Mulder and Scully’s house later on in the series. There was actually filming going on while my sister and I drove up to the house, but it wasn’t clear what show it was. Either way, very exciting!

The last absolute favorite location of mine, and just a beautiful place in general, is the lake pictured below. It was quite misty and foggy, but very peaceful. There is a very special scene that takes place on this very log, so getting to sit there and listen to the water lapping at the shore was incredibly peaceful and really put me in the X-Files mood.

It was very cool to see so many of the key places from one of my favorite shows, and it was a great way to see Vancouver for the first time! Have any of you been to Vancouver, or somewhere else that made an awesome adventure? Let me know below and come back soon! πŸ™‚

  1. That is so cool that you saw the set! I’m from Vancouver and I’ve seen the Once Upon A Time and Riverdale cast’s filming on set which was super fun to watch! It’s so cool how they film a lot down here and it’s so cool when you get to see the real-life version of what you spend so much time watching. Glad your trip was a success!
