5 Christmas Things to Do

Welcome to Blogmas day 1!

It’s finally that time of year! It’s December, and that means that all the Christmas festivities are in full swing. I’m going to put my best effort forward to do Blogmas this year, which means a new post for you every single day! (I’m off to a good start with two posts today – haha). I decided to start with some ideas for things to do this month that will get you in the Christmas mood. 🙂

Go to a Christmas craft fair

In the town I live in there’s a craft fair called the Santa Mouse Sale, and it has tons of adorable homemade Christmas crafts from decor to treats. It’s such a fun thing to do, to walk around all the booths and maybe pick up some gifts for people along the way!

Cut down a Christmas tree

…or pick out the perfect one and ask someone to cut it down for you. Haha. Now, I have cut down my own tree before, but now that I’ve done it once I think I’m good. It’s really just about the experience of traipsing out in the mud and rain and finding that perfect, beautiful Christmas tree that smells so good, and taking it home so you can have a good cup of hot chocolate. And speaking of hot chocolate…

Make the best hot chocolate ever

Now, there are a lot of ways to make hot chocolate, and I don’t think you have to go all out every single time. But once or twice, make it the elaborate way, by heating up some milk on the stove and using baking chocolate, sugar, vanilla, etc. Top it off with some whipped cream and sprinkles, and throw in a candy cane for good measure.

Go see some Christmas lights

In Oregon, there are Christmas lights at the zoo, the Oregon Garden, and obviously in some neighborhoods that go all out. Driving or walking around and looking at the lights is a nice activity for a cold, wintry night, and it can be free if you look locally.

Watch all the Christmas movies

I’ve done a whole post dedicated to all the best Christmas movies to watch, and you can find that here. To me, this is an essential part of December (and dare I say November). Whether it’s by myself or with friends or family, there are enough festive films to get through for one to always be on. It’s the perfect background for wrapping gifts, as well.

Come back later for another Blogmas post and let me know if you’ve already gotten started on these festive things! Or if you have any great festive ideas of your own to share with me!

Thanks for reading!
