December Plans

Welcome to Blogmas day 2!

Hi, friends. Are you so excited that it’s December?! I hope so. I know that I am, and I’m looking forward to all the things that come with this festive time of year. Since it’s the beginning of the month and the beginning of Blogmas (aka a new blog post every day until Christmas) I thought I would give you a little rundown of my plans for the month.

One thing I’ll be doing, of course, is working. This cannot be avoided, but it’s okay, because I actually do enjoy going to work, for the most part. I work in retail, so it will definitely be busy this time of year, but I take it all in stride and look for ways to make even that festive. I like to wear Christmas sweatshirts and bring baked goods for my coworkers to brighten up the day a little.

There are a lot of things going on at church, like a choir cantata that I’m apart of, to the singing group on Christmas Sunday, and also the kids’ play which my nieces and nephew are in. I love singing, especially Christmas songs during this time of year, so I’m looking forward to all of these things! Also, if you’ve never been to a Christmas Eve service and that sounds like something you’d be interested in, I highly recommend it. It’s something that’s quiet, lovely, and rings in Christmas in a wonderful way.

Speaking of music, I’ll be listening to Christmas music in the car 100% of the time. The radio definitely gets old, so I switch it up with some favorite Christmas albums like Bing Crosby, Josh Groban, and Celine Dion.

I’ll also be watching all the Christmas movies I can fit in. White Christmas is my favorite, but there are so many that I love, including the Hallmark ones. I’m writing up a list of all of the ones I watch every year, so keep your eyes peeled for that. ๐Ÿ™‚

I will definitely be on the lookout for lights to go see, either to drive around and look at or to walk through. This is such a fun activity to do with friends, and it absolutely gets people feeling festive.

Of course there will be some shopping and decorating, but there will also be a lot of baking. Like I said, I love to bring baked goods to work, but I also think they make great, thoughtful gifts. Baking is one of my favorite things to do. It makes the house smell wonderful, it’s creative, and it’s producing something that you made from scratch, and that’s a very satisfying feeling.

Really, I’m not doing anything crazy this month and I don’t have grand plans, but I think I like it that way. I’m quite the homebody anyway, so quiet, cozy plans are what I prefer. ๐Ÿ™‚ Let me know in the comments what your December plans are, and also what post you would like to see during this month!

Until tomorrow. xx
